As I listen to the candidates address their crowds after the caucuses tonight, I have mixed feelings. So many have sacrificed to make our country great. Incredible money and power is at stake in the presidential election. Democracy and capitalism have produced unprecedented wealth. Technology and popular media have pressurized and demeaned our lives to the point of meaninglessness.
When I hear someone get wound tight about whether this or that candidate they oppose might win the white house (and with it all things good dying painfully) I just can't get upset about it. Vote, then trust God. It could be worse. The only big cats eating anyone these days are the ones occasionally escaping from the zoo.
Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church in Seattle said it best: believe like a Calvinist, act like an Arminian.
